- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- White onion
- Garlic
- Butter
- Salt
- Oregano
- Marjoram
- 1 1/2 cup water
Prep:
- Dice white onion and garlic
- Sweat onion and garlic in sauce pan until tender
- Add water, tomato paste, can of diced tomatoes
- Whisk or stir until paste is thin.
- Add herbs: Oregano, Marjoram and salt
- Simmer about an hour to let all flavors marry and onions and tomatoes to get completely soft.
- At about 45 minutes, add about 2 tblsp butter and let melt into sauce.
** Optional: Add mushrooms before simmering for an hour.
